عصفت العوامل الاقتصادية والجيوسياسية بعملات الشرق الأوسط، وتركت آثارها المرعبة في تلك الأنحاء، فانخفضت عائدات الصادرات غير النفطية، وهبطت عائدات السياحة، ولحقتها خسائر فادحة في التحويلات بسبب تدهور النشاط الاقتصادي على وجه العموم، وكان من الطبيعي ان تتعرض احتياطياتها الأجنبية لضغوط كبيرة. ومع ذلك اتخذت حكومات الشرق سلسلة من التدابير الفورية والارتجالية لمواجهة الأزمات المتوالية، ولا يزال هناك العديد من الأسئلة حول ما إذا كانت عملاتها المحلية ستكون قادرة على التعافي، ومتى ؟. على سبيل المثال لا الحصر نذكر ان الجنيه المصري واصل انخفاضه مقابل الدولار الأمريكي، وتوقع المحللون المزيد من الانخفاضات في قيمته، بينما تسعى القاهرة نحو تلبية متطلبات صندوق النقد الدولي لآلية صرف أجنبية مرنة كجزء من إتفاقية للحصول على قرض بقيمة 3 مليارات دولار. .
لقد واجه الجنيه في 4 يناير من هذا العام 2023 أكبر انخفاض له في يوم واحد مقابل الدولار الأمريكي، حيث انخفض بمقدار 26.50 %، وتزامن الانخفاض مع زيادة حادة في أسعار الفائدة على شهادات الادخار لمدة عام واحد. ومن المتوقع انخفاض الجنيه إلى الأدنى ثم الأدنى. .
وتفشت أعراض الانخفاض الحاد في أرصدة وميزانية الشعب اللبناني المنكوب، الذي ظل يذود وحده في مواجهة الانهيار الذي شهدته عملته المحلية، ووصلت منزلقات الهبوط إلى 38 ألف ليرة للدولار في منصات الصيرفة. .
من ناحية اخرى انخفض الشيكل الإسرائيلي بنحو 12 في المائة مقابل الدولار، ولا توجد مؤشرات على أنه سيتحسن هذه الأيام، فقد ارتفع التضخم هناك بشكل حاد إلى 5.3 في المائة في تشرين الثاني (نوفمبر) من العام الماضي، أي ما يقرب من ضعف النهاية القصوى لأهداف الحكومة. وكان الشيكل متقلباً للغاية في الربع الأخير من عام 2022. .
وقد شملت هذه التداعيات كل من العراق وايران وتركيا وبلدان أخرى، من دون ان تظهر في الأفق اية بوادر أمل تنعش العملات المحلية المتدهورة. .
