أعلن الجيش الأميركي أنه قتل 132 مدنياً في 2019 في عمليات قام بها في العالم، وهي حصيلة أقل بكثير من تقديرات منظمات غير حكومية.
وقالت وزارة الدفاع الأميركية (البنتاغون) في تقرير سنوي طلبه الكونغرس إنها تقدر أن “132 مدنيا قتلوا و91 جرحوا في 2019 في عمليات عسكرية أميركية في العراق وسوريا وأفغانستان والصومال”.
ويوضح التقرير أن الوزارة لم ترصد أي ضحايا مدنيين للعمليات العسكرية الأميركية في اليمن وليبيا.
ويعترف الجيش الأميركي بسقوط العدد الأكبر من الضحايا المدنيين في أفغانستان، يبلغ عددهم 108 قتلى و75 جريحا.
وفي العراق وسوريا، يعترف البنتاغون بمسؤوليته عن مقتل 22 مدنيا وجرح 13 آخرين، وفي الصومال أقر بمقتل مدنيين وجرح ثلاثة آخرين.
وتنشر المنظمات غير الحكومية باستمرار أرقاما أكبر لضحايا الضربات الأميركية في مناطق النزاعات.
تقدر المنظمة غير الحكومية “ايروارز” التي تحصي عدد الضحايا المدنيين لعمليات القصف الجوي في جميع أنحاء العالم، بما بين 465 و1113 عدد المدنيين الذين قتلوا العام الماضي في سوريا وحدها بعمليات للتحالف الذي تقوده الولايات المتحدة.
وقالت ناطقة باسم الفرع الأميركي لمنظمة العفو الدولية دافني ايفياتار إن تقرير وزارة الدفاع يشكل بالتأكيد بعض التقدم في الشفافية حول العمليات العسكرية الأميركية.
وأضافت: “مضمون التقرير يشير في الوقت نفسه إلى أن البنتاغون يواصل تقليل عدد الضحايا المدنيين”.
