يحكى ان رجل اشترى حمارا ، ومن فرحته بالحمار أخذه إلى سطح بيته ، وصار الرجل يدلل الحمار ويطلعه على مساكن قبيلته وعشيرته وجيرانه من فوق السطح حتى يتعرف على الدروب والطرق ولا يضيع حين يرجع للبيت وحده .
وعند مغيب الشمس أراد الرجل أن ينزل الحمار من على السطح لإدخاله الحظيرة فرفض الحمار ولم يقبل النزول فالحمار أعجبه السطح وقرر أن يبقى ! .
حاول الرجل أن يقنعه مرات عديدة وحاول سحبه بالقوة أكثر من مرة .. أصر الحمار على موقفه و لم يقبل النزول ، وصار يدق رجله بين قرميد السطح …. يرفس وينهق في وجه صاحبه .
البيت كله صار يهتز والسقف الخشبي المتآكل للبيت العتيق أصبح عاجزاً عن تحمل حركات ورفسات الحمار فنزل الرجل بسرعة ليخلي زوجته وأولاده خارج المنزل .
وخلال دقائق .. انهار السقف بجدران البيت ومات الحمار .. فوقف الرجل عند رأس حماره الميت وقال :
انا من يتحمل هذا الخطأ .. و ليس انت..
لاني صعدت بك إلى السطح..بدلاً من الذهاب بك الى الحضيرة…!

Demnach gilt der in Wiesbaden-Biebrich entstandene Stummfilm Das Schloss des Schreckens (1919)
vom deutschen Filmpionier Georg Dengel als Ursprung von Wiesbadens Geschichte als Filmstadt.

Kisselborn, der in 420 Meter Höhe direkt unterhalb des wenige Jahre später errichteten Jagdschlosses Platte liegt,

Wenngleich Wiesbaden den Status als Residenzstadt verloren hatte,
wurde die Stadt als Kurbad, Kongressstadt und Verwaltungssitz weiter
ausgebaut und erlebte einen großen Aufschwung.
Jahrhundert, eingeleitet durch die Erhebung zur herzoglich-nassauischen Residenzstadt, etwa alle 20 Jahre verdoppelte.
An die Deportationen erinnern das Mahnmal Schlachthoframpe und die Gedenkstätte Nordenstadt.Schon im Dezember 1946 wurde eine neue
Gemeinde gegründet, die das Grundstück der Altisraelitischen Gemeinde nutzen konnte.
Das Dekanat gehört zur Propstei Rhein-Main, Propst Oliver Albrecht hat seinen Dienstsitz in Wiesbaden. Es handelt sich um keine der üblichen Eingemeindungen,
da Wiesbaden in diesen Stadtteilen nicht einfach die Rechtsnachfolge der Landeshauptstadt Mainz angetreten hat.
Durch den Niedergang des Großbürgertums in den Nachkriegsjahrzehnten verlor Wiesbaden sein mondänes Flair und unterscheidet sich heute
gesellschaftlich kaum mehr von anderen Städten. Nachdem
sich das ZDF 1961 für Mainz als Hauptsitz entschieden hatte,
dort aber noch Räumlichkeiten fehlten, wurde Wiesbaden provisorischer Verwaltungssitz
des neuen Fernsehsenders.
