كشفت منظمة الصحة العالمية، اليوم الأربعاء، مدى خطورة متحور فيروس كورونا الجديد المعروف علميا باسم “BA.2.86” ويُطلق عليه إعلاميا “بيرولا”، والذي ينتشر بسرعة في جميع أنحاء العالم.
ويراقب مسؤولو الصحة في جميع أنحاء العالم عن كثب سلالة “بيرولا كوفيد”، إذ تُثير قلق الخبراء بسبب 34 طفرة في البروتين الشوكي، وهو جزء الفيروس الذي صممت لقاحات كوفيد-19 لاستهدافه.
من جانبه، قال استشاري الأوبئة بمنظمة الصحة العالمية، الدكتور أمجد الخولي، في تصريحات صحفية، إن “متحور بيرولا “BA.2.86″، هو أحد السلالات الفرعية لمتحور أوميكرون، وتم اكتشافه لأول مرة في شهر يوليو الماضي، مضيفا أن:
“تتميز هذه السلالة بحدوث طفرة في عدد من البروتينات التي قد تكسبها قدرة أكبر على الانتشار”.
لكن ما تزال المعلومات المتاحة حول هذه السلالة الفرعية قليلة لتحديد قدرتها على الانتشار، وكذلك شدة الأعراض والخطورة التي قد تُسببها.
صنفت منظمة الصحة العالمية تلك السلالة “كمتحور تحت الملاحظة”.
لذلك تؤكد منظمة الصحة على أهمية الاستمرار في الإجراءات الاحترازية القياسية، خاصة للفئات الأكثر هشاشة ككبار السن ومرضى الأمراض المزمنة، وتلقي جرعات اللقاح طبقا لتوصيات المنظمة والجهات الصحية الوطنية.
في الدنمارك، حيث ظهرت الحالات الأولى، قال معهد ستاتنز سيروم إنه يختبر الفيروس لتقييم ما إذا كان يشكل تهديدا، لكنه شدد على أنه لا يوجد حاليا أي دليل على أن “بيرولا” يسبب مرضا أكثر خطورة.
