كشفت وزارة النقل عن وجود مشاريع ستعرض كفرص استثمارية واخرى قيد الدراسة.
واشارت إلى أن المشاريع التي تدرسها في الوقت الراهن منها خط سكك (بصرة – الفاو) وخط (البصرة – الفاو – الكوت- بغداد – بعقوبة – كركوك – اربيل – الموصل – دهوك – زاخو) وخط ( بغداد – بعقوبة – كركوك – اربيل – موصل – دهوك – زاخو).
وأكد مدير عام الشركة العامة للسكك الحديد طالب جواد الحسيني “وجود تعاون مشترك مع شركة صينية حكومية تعد من اكبر الشركات الاكاديمية العالمية المتخصصة في جميع المجالات وتنفيذ البنى التحتية وخطوط السكك الحديدية”.
واضاف انه “تمت مناقشة تنفيذ مشاريع السكك الاستثمارية ضمن قانون الاستثمار وفق الجدوى الاقتصادية والعمل على رفع كفاءة الخطوط السككية اهمها تفعيل مشروع البصرة – الفاو الخدمي الاستراتيجي، وربطه عبر القناة الجافة وطريق الحرير بهدف نقل البضائع الواردة الى ميناء الفاو باتجاه تركيا الى اوروبا باجور الترانزيت”.
ويشير الحسيني الى “مساعي الشركة لاستقطاب الشركات الرصينة للمساهمة في تاهيل الخطوط السككية الفرعية ضمن المواصفات العالمية من اجل سهولة انسيابية سير قطارات المسافرين والبضائع”.
