حتى لو كان اجدادك يعيشون في الكويت قبل 600 سنة ضوئية فأنت مهدد باسقاط الجنسية. وحتى لو كان جدك من الصحابة المشاركين في معركة بدر فأنت مهدد بسحب الجنسية السعودية. وحتى لو كنت من أحفاد سعد زغلول أو من أسرة احمد عرابي أو مصطفى النحّاس فبإمكان حكومة العسكر سحب جنسيتك المصرية. وهكذا بالنسبة للسوري واللبناني والمغربي والتونسي. بل حتى لو كان العربي يحمل الجنسية النمساوية أو المالديفية أو الكينية فهو خاضع لاحتمالات إسقاط حقوقه كلها بقرارات قطعية لا رجعة فيها. .
اما على الصعيد العربي فبمجرد انضمامك للمعارضة ووقوفك بوجه الطبقة الحاكمة أو الحزب الحاكم فان قرار إسقاط جنسيتك وسحب جوازك بات من ابسط القرارات التي قد تتخذها الدولة التي عاش فيها اجداد اجدادك قبل تأسيس الدولة نفسها بقرون طويلة. .
وبالتالي فان قرارات إسقاط الجنسية تشمل كل عربي معارض. بل قد تشمل أولاد المواطن المعارض وأحفاده. ولبعض البلدان العربية طرق مختلفة في التعامل مع أي مناوئ لسلطتها حتى لو كان يحمل ارفع النياشين والأوسمة. فالموت بالإعدام شنقا أو رمياً بالرصاصي هو المصير الذي ينتظره. أما إذا كان يعيش خارج وطنه فان رجال المخابرات هم الذين يتكفلون بتصفيته جسدياً باساليبهم المعروفة. وربما يُدرج أقاربه من الدرجة الاولى والثانية والثالثة على قوائم التهميش والاستبعاد والإضطهاد. .
وقد سعت معظم السلطات العربية إلى إقرار قوانين تتضمن إسقاط الجنسية عن مواطنيها في حالات تتعلق بشبهات أو اتهامات تضر بأمنها أو تعكر مزاجها، وقد تحولت تلك التشريعات إلى أدوات لخنق المعارضة في الداخل والخارج، الأمر الذي ينذر بتحوِّل المعارضين إلى (بدون)، وهي تسمية خليجية تُطلق على عديمي الجنسية. فتحولت المطالبات بإسقاط الجنسية إلى سلاح يهدد المواطنين كلهم بدعوى اهانة الرئيس أو الملك أو الأمير. أو بدعوى التحريض ضد مؤسسات الدولة، أو التحريض ضد الجيش والشرطة، أو إحداث الفتن والانفلات الأمنى. .
وبالتالي يتعين على كل عربي ان يلوذ بالصمت المطبق، وأن لا يتسبب بإزعاج السلطات الحاكمة مهما ارتكبت من جرائم. وأن يسير بجانب الحائط، وبخلاف ذلك فأنه مهدد بشطب سجله المدني من مديرية الأحوال الشخصية. ولكن من المؤلم أن تسير بجانب الحائط مبتعدا عن المشاكل فيسقط عليك الحائط نفسه. .
